February in Pictures

February Events

It was another active month for Delaware members; we hiked 103 miles this month and enjoyed both sunny and rainy day hikes, temperatures varied from below freezing to 68 degrees!

We started the month of February with our Feb1st walk at Nature Conservancy’s McCabe Preserve on a chilly 36 degree day, we followed up the week at Cape Henlopen, Trap Pond,Abbotts’ Mill and Blairs Pond. On the 8th we hike The Point in Cape Henlopen knowing it would close on March 1st for the plovers nesting. February 18th Joann Mountain, Beverley Peters, Ilene Greenfield, Karen and Gary Fuselier and I enjoyed the Seal and Bird watching boat tour with Cape Water Tours, it was very very cold but we did see seals!

Beverly, Lem, Lyn, Darlene, Sharon, Joann, Donna, Robert and I enjoyed a day at Assateague Island exploring the trails and beach walking.

We did many local walks at Cape Henlopen State Park, McCabe Preserve, Redden State forest, Trap Pond State Park, Delaware Seashore State Park, Junction Breakwater trail and Prime Hook.

We are looking forward to March day trips to Blackbird State Forest, Prettyman State Park and White Clay Creek State Park.

Hope you will join us next month for our hikes and day trips!

Happy Trails!
