On July 15, Deborah, Saraleigh, Carin and Jerry hiked from White Clay Creek Preserve at London Tract Road lot #1 to White Clay Creek State Park Nature Center parking lot . The weather was hot and humid but the hike was very nice through a canopied forest along the creek. A large black snake crossed the trail and Deborah was very glad it continued down to the creek.
On July 26, Deborah, Joann, Sue Clark and Sue Warren hiked from White Clay Creek State Park Nature Center parking lot to Tri State Marker and the PA/DE Monument loop for a total of 4.5 miles of MDT completed. Deborah and Carin hiked this section again on December 10th. We visited the historic building that houses the Nature Center and saw a framed copy of a lithograph depicting Mason and Dixon doing the survey at the Stargazers Stone; lots of history on this trail! We crossed the state line between PA and Delaware several times. This section is a beautiful hike completely in the forest.
